SOAKED!!

Saturday @3.00pm

Grabbing my books and backpack, I hurried to my bike.  When I was outside the house, I looked up yonder, the sky was dark, not grey, it was darker than grey.  I didn't want to think that it would rain heavily, not just yet.  Not to worry, I had my purple jacket on and I thought it would shelter me from the drizzle.  As I started off from the house, it still seemed alright, until I reached the highways.  Tiny raindrops smeared my face and as I went along, the drizzling was suddenly turned on to a showering mode!  Arrgghh!!!  I was taking a shower while riding my bike!  And you can imagine how it'd been.  I could feel the cold water running down my spine, wetting my undergarments and that was sickening.  I told myself that I mustn't stop at the five-foot-way for shelter because the centre was just round the corner and if I were to do that I would be late for class.
It was very cold and the urge to reach the centre was too intense.  That sudden downpour with strong winds reminded me to be more careful.  Luckily, drivers and other road users were considerate and that had facilitated me on the road.  I was most careful, avoiding cars and tried to speed up.  "It's too cold, too cold! (shivering..... gug, gug, gug, gug, gug, gug.)"  Slowing down  and turning round a corner and straight to the parking lot, turned off my bike, ran to the five-foot-way and up the stairways.  Water was dripping off me and..."Oh nooo, I'm done here!"  Do you know why?  The purple colour from my jacket had run down and stained my white pants.  My poor white pants!!  I hurried to my classroom, took off my soaked jacket and spread it on a table at the back of the classroom, letting the water to drip off it.  I was drenched!  Walking in my wet socks and shoes with my pants partly purpled by the jacket, colleagues called out and offered towels. and tissue paper to dry and clean up.
I couldn't change clothes as there were no extras.  So, just imagine, I was there in a two hour session classroom and feeling like sitting in a bath tub filled with water.  Why not? Coz I was wet inside out.  While in the classroom, the purple jacket that I had put on the table had its water dripping on the floor creating a puddle of purple rain.  My students laughed at it and I had to call the cleaner
to mop the floor.  Anyway, I hoped that I didn't have to catch cold.  My class ended at 5.15pm and when I reached home,  I quickly bathed and got ready to see my daughter at the hospital - another night!
